What we focus on when selecting our applicators

  • Your company operates under a formal Quality Management System (e.g. ISO 9001) and the company inspector/supervisor holds an accredited Coating Inspection Certification (such as NACE Level 1 or CBIP).

  • Your company is a member of a relevant professional body with a code of ethics (e.g. FPANZ).

  • Your company has established itself in the industry and is knowledgable around the necessary standards (e.g., AS2311: Guide to the Painting of Buildings), regulations and code of compliances.

  • The applicator holds an accredited certificate (such as SSPC Train the Painter, SSPC Thin Film Intumescent Training, or ICATS Industrial Coatings Applicator) and has experience in spraying intumescent coatings for at least 2 years.

  • Your company aligns with our values and demonstrates these values in the way you engage with your clients, staff and partners. The execution of your application projects reflects your values.

If you are not already set up in the manner described above, we advise hiring an accredited third-party coatings inspector to help oversee your projects and make sure that all requirements for applying an intumescent coating are met.

As part of our applicator onboarding process we offer in-depth trainings for applicators that are new to job. These are run by experienced technical coating experts and tailored to the application of our intumescent coating products on non-ferrous substrates.

  • We discuss pricing once you register your interest. The cost varies depending on; the size of your team, what current training and level you are at, and, what Tier you are applying for.

  • Both the applicator and the business get certification. However the company needs to retain relevant trained and certified applicators on the team. Top up courses are available for new staff.

  • Aside from our two day live training you get relevant course material that you can takeaway.

  • We help you decide which training tier is right for your business, based on existing experience and depending on the systems you would like to apply (IntuGuard, PenoLock, EnCap).

  • Becoming a tech coatings licensed and approved applicator is simple

    Step 1 - initial contact and decide the best training solution.

    Step 2 - Sign our T&C and Licensing agreement; in return you receive our application manual

    Step 3 - Agree the details, we tailor and customise the course to your business needs.

    Step 4 - On-site applicator training day/s. Upon completion each attendee will receive a personalised certification of completion and so will your company. You also receive take-away materials to support your training.

    Step 5 - Become a listed Tech Coatings applicator. We send you project referrals if they are relevant to your location and specialisation.
